Having Fun With Your Hair: What to Take With You While Traveling

By

As I mentioned in my previous blog (on what hair tools to take along on a vacation), if you have frizzy or unruly hair, it is highly recommended to get a relaxing treatment (such as Keratin) done before you embark on your fun journey. It makes your hair highly manageable and you won’t have to worry about it much. You don’t want to waste time with dryers or straighteners (so don’t take any along) and here, I’ll tell you which products you should take with you to get the most out of your hair and keep looking good for the duration of your trip. Getting a low-maintenance haircut pre-departure is also highly advisable and if you are going to an island destination, then steer clear of heavy colour jobs and get it done upon your return – as salt water and heat are not coloured hair’s friends.

Here is a list of suggested hair products you can take along to get the most out of your hair, depending on your hair type. See if you can get the smaller quantity ones as you don’t want to carry extra weight or take up too much space. I highly recommend label.m products as they are high quality and the results never disappoint, plus you can find mini-sizes for the following.

Shampoo and Conditioner

These should go without saying, but if you’re making a checklist, these are at the top.

Dry shampoo

For those of you with oily hair, this will be your best friend during your trip. When you don’t have enough time to wash your hair, dry shampoo is a lifesaver in helping soaking up the extra oil from your hair. Label.m does one specifically for brunettes also.

Leave-In Conditioner

For those with dry and frizzy hair, these will help restore moisture in your hair.

Sea Salt spray

To add natural looking waves, adding texture and a little bit of volume, sea salt sprays are a favourite.

Volume Mousse

To add volume or to lightly style your hair without using a blow dryer, volume mousse is a must-have and a hair hero.

Anti-frizz serum

If you have unmanageable frizzy hair, then keeping a frizz control serum is highly recommended – especially if you are going to a humid place.

Protein spray

A few spritzes of this after a shower is good for your hair and protects against damage.

Matt paste

For men in particular, to get quick and lasting styles.
