Shafaq Habib : Designer Bridal 22 Carat Gold Jewellery
I have been in awe of Shafaq Habib’s stunning array of antique, contemporary estate pieces since I first set eyes on them. So when I had the opportunity to meet Shafaq it was a truly delightful experience. A true fan moment! You see, I have been a fan of Shafaq for a long time and getting the chance to pick her creative mind and gain an insight in to how she works, and her inspiration, was truly a magnificent experience.
Shafaq, Pakistan’s leading gold and diamond jewellery designer, uses old-fashioned gemstones and pearls with traditional polki diamond 22 carat gold with a modern twist of design to tell a unique story known as the “Signature Shafaq” style.
Shafaq travels the world looking for rare pearls, gemstones and inspiration from different cultures and art forms to fuse her own ethnic tastes. Everything is her vision, something that is reflected clearly in her jewellery – breathtaking and one of a kind! What fascinates me is how every piece is uniquely structured. The detailed compounds and the stunning selection of precious stones teamed with handpicked freshwater pearls and perfectly molded, sculptured in gold are simply wow! Words alone do not do the pieces justice.
With costume jewellery popular than ever, many people now under-rate gold jewellery mainly due to it’s increasing price and olden yellow gold styles and designs. Let it be known that Shafaq only works with 22 carat gold and real stones. Her advice to clients with a lower budget is to get smaller pieces, but get the real thing. She believes it gives you a kind of confidence that artificial jewellery cannot. It’s durability means that it won’t fade or break, and it is long lasting nature allows you to pass it down to future generations. So guys… key message – when investing, invest well! When buying pieces, don’t just buy for the season – buy something that will look great even if you choose to wear it in 20 years time.
Shafaq believes that every woman should have a unique pair of pearl earrings and a long strand of pearls designed exclusively for her. Something that I daren’t argue with! Current trends among Asian brides include diamond sets that consist of a choker, a matching long necklace, a jhoomer, tikka and off course traditional jhumkas. Diamond sets with precious stones and high quality pearls are in demand. If you want to be unique, team up yours with traditional pearls with polki diamonds carved with tourmaline and emerald. The carved signature pieces are unique and wearable time and time again.
