Redah Misbah’s 8 Winter Must Have Products!

By

We women are always on the lookout for the best protective products for our skin and hair. I get asked pretty much the same questions every winter by different people, because with winter around, our skin needs more care. Depending on where you live, if its dry or humid, how much direct sun you get, how to disciplined we are about our skincare regiments all add up in getting the right results. I have tried to cover most of what would apply to most of us in 8 Must Haves for winter.

8 Hour Cream By Elizabeth Arden

8

This is my go to quick-fix product for pretty much anything form parched winter skin, to dehydrated areas, chapped lips, dry elbows, knees and I can go on. I can tell you atleast 6 ways I have cocktailed this product and used it every season however this winters I stumbled upon using it as a mask; a thick layer spread evenly on your face and neck for atleast 10minutes and it gives you the ultimate moisture and helps repair your skin.

Guinots “Bioxygene” Oxygenating Cream

g

Everyday our skin is under serious attack from several environmental hazards such as dust, smoke, smog, even sunlight along with many other factors that leave it looking dull and damaged. The lack of oxygen due to such harmful substances causes the skin to age prematurely and leave us looking, well not as fabulous as we might like. Guinot’s oxygenating cream is made to tackle exactly that. By providing “Oxygen” to the skin it is what one can call literally a “breath of fresh air” for your face and I cant stress enough the importance on how much a dose of oxygen is good for our skin. This cream is designed to enhance cellular oxygenation to help cells work better and repair faster for healthy looking skin.

Intensive Mask by Label.M

Did you know every time you use a heat styling tool like hairdryers or tongs, you loose 60% of your hairs natural moisture with it? As important as it is to use a good heat protective styling product its as important to treat your hair a deep condition treatment at least once a week. Packed with healthy hair nourishing ingredients like bran, shea butter and cotton seeds this hair mask is the perfect way to condition, dull, dry and lifeless hair in the cold season. This always leaves my hair feeling invigorated with a silky sheen

Guinot Nutrizone Corps Nourishing Body Cream With Argan Oil

r

I’ve seen a lot of my clients and friends moisturizing their face and neck religiously but always forgetting to moisture their body as much. This body moisterizer combines grape seed and babassu palm seed Oils with Mango and Shea butter to provide proper amino acids to replenish your skin and leave it soft, supple and refreshed. An all over body cream combined with Argan oil, this does wonder for my skin in winters.

Keihls Deeply Restorative Smoothing Hair Oil Concentrate

k

Now before I talk about this here’s some quick info about oils, some are dry and some are moist, this product though is the perfect blend of moist oils that your hair needs to stay hydrated and shiny! A blend of 5 oils mixed with Argan oil, it seals your hair with moisture to ensure a healthy head of hair!

Home Made Sugar Scrub

BROWN-SUGAR

Just like you have to exfoliate your face once a week it is equally important to do the same for your body. I have a serious scrub shopping problem; just can’t help it! I need my scrub to be the perfect balance between good texture and moisture and I have recently become big on herbal desi totkas so here’s my all time favorite – To make this scrub, use equal amounts of brown sugar and white sugar. (For a 6 oz. jar that equals about 1/4 cup of each.) Then, fill the jar to the top with olive oil. It should cover the sugars and then add an extra half inch of oil. Finally, just add about 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla extract and stir. Warm for 5 minutes on the stove and treat your body to the perfect scrub.

Creme De La Mer Lip Balm

c

Packed with what La Mer trademarks as their “miracle broth” which is rumored to consist of blending a mix of sea kelp with an array of vitamins and minerals, oils of citrus, eucalyptus, wheat germ, alfalfa and sunflower. This balm is my lips best friend! In the winters I often use this balm as base for matt lip colours so they are not too drying for your lips.

Laura Mercier Primer

l

If you have read my make up tips or follow me on Facebook you will know I am a big fan of Laura Mercier products and this is definitely one of my favourite primers. Meant to be as it is a gel like substance that goes on before your concealer and foundation, I feel in the summers you always need something mattifying when it comes to primers but this is a great product for the winters and even spring. This will help your make up really last and give you a natural dewy glow.
