Spring Shoe Trends 2014

By

Surprise! Surprise! The climate is finally lightening up. The snow is melting; salt is disappearing, not to mention the warmer weather. What does this mean for us girls who have been dying to retire our UGGs? This means we can finally whip out our exposed shoes without the fear of frost bite! We’ve suffered in this polar vortex long enough and I think we’re all desperate to get our dancing shoes on! What will you wear in celebration of the demise of tundra-like temperatures?

Is it me or have the Styling Gods seriously beautified open toed heels in the last few years? Nothing says more about a woman than a well done manicure and Praise the Lord for the invention of delicate peep toes to display that. When matched right with a boyfriend jean or feminine dress, these beauties can help pull together any look!

For anything to make a come-back, let me tell you over the moon I am that the pointy toe is back! There is nothing more sexy and sophisticated than it. Not only does it elongate any woman’s physique but the slender appeal of the shoe is tempting! A masculine outfit lets say perhaps a tuxedo or a collared shirt and sweater paired with these “pointies” add feminine appeal to any work day or cocktail evening ensemble. Below are some of my favorites from this season! Totally drool worthy!

If you’re anything like me, a heel isn’t always an option when dressing up or down. To be frank, I actually prefer a comfortable flat over an intimidating high rise. Although this might not be everyones cup of tea, oxfords and loafers have 2014 written all over them. These flats are ideal for an extensive day or for any city commuter travelling from destination to destination. These babies are unique and definitely add a pizzaz of style to any stylish look!

One of the most exciting kinds of shoes I’m so anxious to wear are the gladiator sandals. They started off simply sitting at the ankles but within recent seasons, they have almost reached knee length. Wearing these is definitely asking to be the center of attention. These strappy pieces make a statement with a simple outfit, perhaps a mini dress or shorts.

So save those spring bonuses and let’s truly prepare for a big chunk of our earnings to go to dolling up our feet. After all, they’ve been covered and socked for the past few months! They deserve to breathe and the freedom to see the world without being trapped in those boots. Happy shopping ladies!
