7 Must Wear Desi Styles This Spring
Don’t you just LOVE Spring ? The fresh bursts of color everywhere and nature in full bloom is a sign from above, to step out from the shadows of monochrome and throw in a little color for the season. It is, after all, the season to be girly so get out your color palette and dig into your wardrobe as we delve into what’s hot this Spring!
Prints :
If you’ve shied away from prints all year round, there’s no excuse to let it steal away Spring too. There’s no months like the warm months to wear prints. It’s written in stone that florals make an undeniable appearance this time of the year, but if you’re not big on florals or simply want to experiment, try mixing up different prints – Ikat, geometric (sailor stripes and nauticals are a winner!), abstracts and even animal prints, if you will to create a print-on-print silhouette.
Wide-Legged Pants
This love-child of the fashion meets comfort romance is a sure winner in both departments. I’ve seen everyone wearing them right from New York’s street stylistas to desi grocery stores. There’s so much you can do with these pants, here’s some inspiration.
Chandelier Earrings
These are making a big comeback this Spring. Choose pieces with colorful stones and pretty trinkets and pair them with a simple kurti or linen shirt to create a look that’s perfect for the day. Pop on a pair of sunnies to go.
Turquoise
I’m not one for picking favorite colors when it comes to trends but it seems like Turquoise will be for Spring what Marsala was for Fall and Winter. Since this color is a cool shade, I’d suggest wearing it with complementary colors to suit desi skin. Another option is to wear turquoise on your nails/ accessories or in your makeup instead of outfits – the color works better that way.
Thong Sandals
These barely-there sandals are all your feet need for days on the beach, to run errands or to carry off that flirty sun dress. Please keep your nails well-tended to, before you wear them though. There’s nothing like un-groomed toenails peeping out of your sandals 🙁
Floor-Length Kurti
Better known as the maxi, a cotton or georgette shift works great with cigarette pants, treggings, or even a churidhar bottom. This piece is the definition of comfort and elegance. Bonus points for slimming effects!
Layered Jewelry
Midi rings, simple pendants, chains of varying lengths and fall all can be layered to create a clutter-free look. Ditch heavier jewelry and opt for simple, thin and delicate pieces put together, for this look.
